The Kau lab, August 2017

The Kau lab focuses on understanding how members of the microbiota impact human health through their effects on the immune system. We use a combination of, computational, microbiologic, immunologic and systems biology approaches to study how the microbial ecology of the gut, airways and other mucosal surfaces interacts with host factors, like gender or obesity, to modulate susceptibility to asthma and other allergic diseases.

The lab is part of the Center for Women's Infectious Disease Research, Division of Allergy and Immunology and Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine and is located in the BJC Institute of Health.
